Missed it by that much #5

Well the title says it all. This one was the result of an exercise from the book of Mr. Scott McCloud I do believe. Enjoy...

Sorry for the absence...

Been away from the computes for awhile and busy in the basement with the screening and printing. Was out drawing and drinking coffee with Mr. Howe last night and came up with a couple characters I think might work for a solo series drawn, inked and, gasp, written by me. I'm apologizing in advance if it makes your eyes bleed trying to read the story...

Return of the Digital Dragons

This was a short lived series of strips that I created for What MMORPG. There seemed to be a lot of material in spoofing RPG concepts so I decided to revive the strip with the help of a couple friends. Check out the link to see the first two strips and browse the site. Lots of great info and reviews if you like the MMORPGs like I know you do.

What a long strange trip it's been...

The Fan Expo has come and gone again for another year. I could go on and on about the plethora of problems that we ran into this year but I'd rather remember the good times. There were a lot of great people that I got to meet and reconnect with at this colossal event. Jim Zubkavich caught me by surprise when he popped up at the Durham Comics Guild table. His upcoming book, Skullkickers, looks like it's going to melt some faces when it's released next month. Lamin Martin, who I met last year briefly and didn't find again until the very end of the con, was kind enough to trade some convention tips with this green horn. Check out his gallery at here. His line work is amazing and you won't be able to look away from his fantasy portraits. Adam and Thea, the organizers of the Toronto Zombie Walk, dropped by bringing the gift of new screen printing ink. Thanks again guys. I can't wait to try it out. Erica Steenburg, one of my buds from the Eastdale days, and her boys from the 501st. In her special brand of criticism, that only she can dish out, let me know that I've got to stop making female genitalia look like office supplies. A new face this year was Kassandra Santos. Wow. Do yourself a favor and check her out. Your eyes will thank you for it. Thanks for all the kind words Kassandra. To everyone that purchased books, commissions and or prints from the Guild table this year; my thanks goes out to all of you. But enough of this dancing around the keyboard, here's a couple of sketches I did over the weekend whist in the middle of the hullabaloo. Enjoy...

Two new books!!! You don't say...

So for everyone attending FanExpo this year you'll be excited to hear that myself, in conjunction with the Durham Comics Guild, will be offering two new books that are overflowing with great art and stories. I've got a story in each of them. Le Fromage Vert in the second issue of Breakout and Angel of Death in the first issue of Redband. The cover for Redband is a special piece I hold near and dear to my heart. It was created by the indomitable Kelly Forbes.

For those of you that can't make it out to the big show, have no fear, the option to order these gems online is coming soon.

Quick exercise and cover page!

A little exercise we did at the Creative Arts Guild today: Draw a babe and a monster. Pretty straight forward but those are always fun. Also the cover for the upcoming short story by Mr. Scott Polmans. Will be ready for FanExpo and available in a package deal with the soon to be released Redband issue 1!
